Stop Smoking!

No doubt you are aware of the aids for various patches, gums etc to aid in overcoming smoking. There is one in particular about how you must keep the little nicotine monsters in your mind fed - what a fallacy. The truth is that within 48 hours of stopping smoking the nicotine has left your body - Really - no need for mood swings, irritability etc. So why in your previous attempts have you been like a monster to live with - because you are psychologically still connected to the cigarette.

How does hypnotherapy work to help you stop smoking?

  • You MUST want to stop smoking - no cajoling from others, no pressure.
  • Your life must be free from major stress. (See New Year’s Resolutions)
  • You MUST believe you can stop smoking easily.
  • You look forward to being a non smoker.

At your hypnotherapy session we look at all the positive reasons for becoming a non smoker. How great your life will be etc. But we are not “Pollyanna” about it - we must look at what you can replace cigarettes with - for example, do you smoke for confidence in social situations, have you smoked 30/40 for 20 years - then you are losing a “friend” something that has been there for you in good times and bad etc. Do you smoke to occupy your hands or for boredom? We must look at these areas and come up with something else a more positive replacement and it must be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time Specific). You come up with the ideas - you know your life, how you fit or not fit in various new ideas into it.
