The best way to stop smoking is to be sure of the reasons why you want to give up, and also to make a plan. You must have the help and support of family and friends to cope with nicotine withdrawal symptoms.

Create a listing of the reasons why you want to give up. There are many, yours could include improved health and fitness, greater life expectancy, lessening risk of heart problems and cancer, being a good example for your family, better smelling breath, increased chances of having a sturdy baby, improved skin with lesser wrinkles, saving costs, etc.

Fix a date when you will give up. It may be a New Year’s Day resolution, a birthday or another special day. It may be National No Smoking Day, which is usually the second Wednesday of every March. Setting a date enables you to prepare yourself mentally.
